Legal Counsel & Director of Independent Contractor Compliance at  HireGenics

Brandon Pavley is Legal Counsel & Director of Independent Contractor Compliance. Prior to HireGenics, Brandon held the position of Operations Manager within the Student Health Center on Michigan State University’s campus where he was responsible for compliance, risk management, contract development, and other day-to-day operational matters.

At HireGenics, Brandon is responsible for diagnosing contingent workforce classification issues and consulting with customers and workers to identify and implement value-based solutions. Currently, Brandon is focusing on continuous development and proper implementation of HireGenics’ contingent workforce compliance tools in order to properly vet, manage, and maintain compliant contingent workforce relationships.

Brandon is an expert in independent contractor and small supplier compliance, joint employment or “co-employment,” sub-supplier/subcontractor risk, and relationship management as it relates to developing and maintaining a compliant relationship between the worker and the end client receiving services. Brandon is responsible for directing the day-to-day contingent workforce compliance activities and ensuring seamless coordination between the HireGenics automated compliance tool, the HireGenics personal white glove service to all parties in each relationship, and the proper classification with risk mitigation for every contingent worker placement.

Education:

Brandon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Business Administration, Prelaw from Michigan State University. Brandon also earned two degrees from Thomas M. Cooley Law School: a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude; and a Master of Laws (LL.M.), summa cum laude.
